The Project

This new build project situated in the Black Isle, Ross-shire has been engineered and installed to equal or better than Passivhaus Standards; requiring minimal heating due to high levels of insulation and air-tightness incorporated within its design. The property is finished in a smooth white render to the external blockwork complimented by stained larch and high-performance Aluclad Scandinavian triple glazed timber windows.

Key information:

  •  220m2 of 180mm thick panels with 15mm OSB/3 facings.

• Rapid assembly time for SIPs panels to a wind and watertight shell allowed work to continue inside during bad weather.

• Additional cold bridging layer of 25mm PIR insulation board behind plasterboard linings incorporates service voids.

• First floor vaulted ceilings open up to ridge level.

• Hemsec SIPs able to resist the high wind loadings in the North of Scotland with ease due to their high racking strength.
